Six years ago, the day before Thanksgiving, we went on a date that changed everything. Back then, you were a 26-year-old bachelor who spent your days golfing, grabbing takeout for dinner, and binge-watching documentaries and true crime shows at night. We started as friends, then best friends, and on that night, something shifted. Sitting across from each other, it just felt right—effortless, easy, with no awkward silences or doubts. In that moment, I knew you were the one I wanted by my side forever.
Since then, you’ve made me fall in love three times: once with you, once with myself, and once with life itself. Now, you’re not just my husband but an incredible stepfather to Joseph. On nights when you have to work late, Joseph says, “Oh no, that means we have to fend for ourselves!” You’re the glue that holds us together, and we’re so lucky to have you.
You’re also the funniest person I know—hands down. You have this incredible ability to make us laugh, no matter what kind of day we’ve had. Whether it’s your hilarious impressions, the ridiculous jokes you come up with on the spot, or just your playful sense of humor, you always know how to lift the mood and bring a smile to our faces. Joseph and I are constantly laughing because of you, and it’s one of the things I love most about you.
I’ll never forget the time you gave a homeless man bus money, and when I asked why, you said, “He was so polite, and when someone has so little but still has that good of an attitude, that’s something special.” You have a way of seeing the beauty in everything and everyone, and it’s just another reason you’re so special to us.
And let’s talk about how amazing you are at taking care of us. You always cook the most delicious meals, even after a long day, and somehow manage to keep the house spotless. I’m constantly in awe of how much you do for us, without ever making it feel like a chore. You make our home feel warm and cared for, and it’s one of the countless ways you show your love.
Every day with you feels like a Friday. Here’s to more memories, more laughter, and more of the spontaneous adventures that make life with you so wonderful. Happy dating anniversary, my love. Cheers to the little milestones that mean everything.
